Frequently Asked Questions - App Users/Panelists
-
It’s easy to join the Survey Diem panel. Just download the app to your smartphone, open the app, and complete the registration process within the app.
Note that in order to provide the best quality panel to our clients, we require all panelists to be located in the US (no VPNs!) and to scan a valid US state-issued ID in order to complete registration. Valid IDs include driver’s licenses and state-issued identity cards.
You will also be asked to share some demographic information that will ensure we only send you surveys that are relevant to you.
Survey Diem never provides clients with data that could identify you as a respondent, such as your name, address, or email address. We only provide demographic data to help our clients understand the different types of consumers in their market.

Yes. Some commentors in online forums claim that some survey apps or panels are scams because it is hard to qualify for surveys or because they have not been paid what they earned.
At Survey Diem, you will always receive credit for completed surveys unless a client has flagged your response as fraudulent. Once you receive credit in the form of points, it is easy to cash out by applying points to a PayPal payment (i.e., having real money sent to your PayPal account).
We will never invite you to complete surveys we know you are not eligible to complete based on the demographic info we collect in the registration process. There are many cases, however, in which our client must use screening questions to administer the survey only to qualified participants. If you attempt a survey and are screened out, you will still receive 10 points (equivalent to $0.10).
-
Survey Diem has the demographic information you provided when you registered for the panel and which you update or confirm on a regular basis.
If a client wants to survey women that live in Missouri, we will only invite panelists that we know meet that description.
If the client wants to survey panelists that have purchased a car in the last year, we would invite all panelists to the survey and then there would be at least one screening question as part of the survey.
If you attempt to complete a survey but get screened out, you will still get 10 points for your effort and you will be eligible for more survey invitations that day.
-
That depends on how many surveys you qualify for and complete. If you complete a survey, you will receive at least 100 points ($1). You will only receive compensation if you complete the survey.
When you complete a survey, you will receive at least 100 points for the first minute plus a rate of up to 16 points for each minute of estimated survey length after that. If the survey is estimated to be 10 minutes long, you could receive 256 points. This is for consumer surveys. If you qualify for business-related surveys (surveys specifically about your job), you may receive a higher rate.
Note also that incentives are based on estimated survey length and not adjusted based on how long you actually spent completing the survey. A consumer survey with an estimated length of 10 minutes might pay $2.56, even if you spent 12 minutes completing it. Do not rush to complete surveys though. You could be flagged for speeding and lose your incentive.
You will not be invited to complete more than one Survey Diem survey per day.
You will also receive 10 points ($0.10) for every survey you attempt to complete but are screened out of.
There is no limit on the number of surveys you can attempt in one day. The limit is just that you can only complete one.
Say, for example, you get screened out of the first three surveys you attempt to complete and are able to complete the fourth one, which is estimated at 15 minutes in length. After completing the survey, you will not be invited to any more surveys that day. Your total earnings for the day, in this example, would be 366 points, equivalent to $3.66.
Let’s say you complete one 15-minute survey a day. You could make more than $1,200 a year.
Note that there is no guarantee you will be invited to complete a survey every day or on any particular day, and there is no guaranteed rate other than 100 points for the first minute.
Note also that if you receive $600 or more in survey incentives from Survey Diem in a calendar year, we will be required by federal law to report your earnings to the IRS.
-
Your account will be credited at the completion of the survey in the amount promised in your survey invitation. The points you receive for completing surveys can be converted to cash in PayPal within the Survey Diem app. You must have a PayPal account to convert your earnings to cash.
Note that your account credits may be adjusted if our client flags your survey response for quality issues. Examples of quality issues include speeding through the survey, answering every question the same way, not following directions, and providing inconsistent or highly unlikely responses. If our client rejects your response due to quality concerns, we will deduct the incentive amount you already received from your account.
If you are flagged for quality issues across several surveys, you may be removed from the Survey Diem panel.
-
Our clients review all survey response data carefully and may reject some responses if they believe the respondent has not provided true and accurate information, has not completed the survey in good faith (for example, they have completed the survey in an unreasonably fast time), or if they have failed to follow instructions.
When you complete a survey, you are automatically credited with points matching the incentive amount. If a client has flagged your response for quality issues, we may deduct the incentive amount from your points total. This is a process called “reconciliation.”
If you have questions about your point total, you may always contact info@surveydiem.com.
-
You can see your Quality Score and Reconciled Count, among other data points by navigating to Settings and then Collected Data within the app.
All new panelists start with a Quality Score of 100. If a client flags your response to a survey for quality issues, you lose 20 points on your Quality Score. Depending on your Quality Score, you may not be invited to some surveys, and if there are continued quality issues with your responses, you may be removed from the Survey Diem panel.
Your Reconciled Count value is the number of times a client has flagged a survey response of yours for quality issues. You can only be flagged or “reconciled” once per survey (i.e., reconciliation is based on multiple factors per survey and not necessarily one response to one question).
-
The surveys can be any length, though we encourage clients to limit surveys to 10-15 minutes. The longer the survey, the more points you are rewarded, and the more the client has to pay.
-
A related question is, “Can I get in trouble for my opinion?”
You will never be asked questions that would put you at risk of harm. If you believe this has occurred, please contact info@surveydiem.com immediately.
Keep in mind that while surveys may ask you about your personal experiences, our clients will never receive information that identifies you or ties your identity to your response.
You have a right to stop a survey at any time by closing the app or returning to the app’s home screen. For more information about your rights as a research participant, see https://www.insightsassociation.org/Resources/Data-Quality-Standards/Participant-Bill-of-Rights.
